Getting stuck
Lucas loves trying to get into places where he doesn't really fit and then doesn't know how to get out of. He is a funny little guy.

Lucas just starting using his little walker last week. One day he tried it out and the next day he was just cruising with it. It is fun to see him move.

11 months old!
Lucas is 11 months old today! In only one month he will be ONE! That is so crazy to me. He is growing up so fast. He is a fast crawler now especially when he sees something that he wants or if he sees that the gate isn't up on the stairs. He loves climbing up the stairs but hasn't mastered going down them. He stands up on things and especially loves opening the cupboards or drawers and taking everything out of them. He loves to eat cheese. He recently learned how to play peek-a-boo and will entertain us by putting his face on the ground or couch and then pop back up. This has helped when we change his diapers because he is so squirmy. We will put a blanket on his face and say "Where's Lucas?" and he pulls it off and laughs. He is a happy little boy.

Minnesota trip
We had a great trip to Minnesota a couple of weeks ago and I am finally back to my normal schedule now. It was such a wonderful trip and only wish that we could have stayed longer and taken more pictures. We got to go to a Twins' game, the Minnesota state fair, Valleyfair (amusement park), Minnehaha falls, the mall of America, IKEA, visiting my family and a friend there (sister and family, aunt and uncle and cousins, and Ryan's best friend from home that just moved there), and last but certainly not least many amazing visits with Lucas' birth family. Lucas did so well meeting everyone and running on little sleep and naps. We were so happy that he was his normal self. He loved being the center of attention to even more people. We were so happy that we got to make the trip.

Lucas up close with the yellow ducks at the state fair. He loved them!
Eating a corn dog (don't worry, we didn't really let him eat it whole, we cut it up for him)
Riding the carousel

What a great trip! We can't wait to go back and see everyone again!

10 Months Old!
Time is really flying. Lucas and I are trying to recover from a week of family reunion camping. It was fun, but I think we were both pretty sleep deprived. He did surprisingly well on short naps. He loved playing wth new people and was full of smiles. I was nervous that he would only let me hold him, but he warmed right up to my family. it gives me hope that next week in Minnesota, he will like everyone.
Lucas has all kinds of new tricks now. He is crawling, pulling himself up to stand, and mastered crawling up the stairs all in the last week! He is crawling all over the house and is discovering ner things everyday. He loves to make a mess with the diapers that are just within his reach. He stands up in his crib all the time now. This has been a hard week for his naps. I thought that he would be so tired from last week and he would be so happy to be in his own crib, but since he learned to stand, he has been taking shorter naps and will just stand up and cry until I come get him. I am not sure what he is doing because the second I pick him up he is asleep in my arms. Maybe he doesn't know how to get back down, but why is he waking up and remembering that he can stand? Today I ran upstairs and then he came following me. He did really well for never trying it before. he was really proud of himself. hewanted to go down headfirst, he hasn't caught on that he needs to go backwards. We will definitely be keeping the gates up.
He is eating a lot of different foods than just baby food and he definitely prefers the non-baby food. His 8 teeth are looking good and I don't think he has anymore coming in right now. Lucas has also learned how to turn the pages in his book when we are reading. He loves when we read to him. Here are some pictures from our trip and some others.

Summer Fun
It has been a fun summer so far and we still have more time. This week Lucas and I are going to a family reunion. And then in a few weeks we will all be in Minnesota! We are so excited!
Lucas has mastered the army crawl in the last couple weeks. He gets around really well and chases us wherever we go. He loves finding new things to play with now that he can move. He popped another tooth on the bottom so he now has 4 on top and 4 on the bottom. He has also mastered moving from his tummy to a sitting position. We find him sitting up in his crib frequently, which is cute, but can be frustrating when it is nap or bedtime.
He is such a fun little boy. He is really starting to show some personality and it is so great to see.
