Tell Me Again
Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born is one of the books that we have that talks about adoption. It is such a sweet story and as we read it to Lucas the other night, Ryan and I both started crying. Some excerpts from it:
Tell me again about the night I was born...
Tell me again how the phone rang and they told you I was born. Tell me again how you screamed...
Tell me again how you got on an airplane with my baby bag and flew to get me and how there was no movie, only peanuts...
Tell me again how you couldn't grow a baby in your tummy, so another woman who was too young to take care of me was growing me and she would be my birth mother, and you would adopt me and be my parents...
Tell me again about the first time you held me in your arms and called me your baby sweet. Tell me again how you cried happy tears.
Tell me again about the first night you were my daddy and you told me about baseball being the perfect game, like your daddy told you.

Doctor's appointment
Lucas went to his first doctor's appointment. He is definitely growing. He weighed in at 6 lbs 7 oz....a big jump from leaving the hospital at 5 lbs 11 oz. He did pee on the table immediately after weighing in, Ryan thinks he was throwing the weigh in. Either way we know he is eating well. He measured 19 3/4", so either he is shrinking or the hospital stretched him out a little more. He is a great little baby and doing so well. We are all so happy to be home!
He is such a cute little guy!
Not loving his bath
Nice and warm now

Bath time!
Bath time!
Lucas is one week old. He is doing great. He eats like a champ and is sleeping pretty well. Someone asked me how I was doing with the night time feedings...I love it all! This is what I have been wanting for years!
We are going home on Sunday. Our families are very anxious to meet this little guy. One of my sisters said, "I wonder how long it will be before I am able to talk about him and not cry." He is loved by so many people!
