Monster Trucks

Lucas is obsessed with all kinds of trucks, tractors, and trains. He will point them out wherever we go. Ryan saw that the monster truck show was coming into town and decided to take Lucas and 2 of our nephews. Lucas loved it. He was amazed with the trucks and especially loved when the tractors and bulldozers would come out and move the dirt and obstacles around. He has been talking about it all day "I go to monster trucks. It loud," while covering his ears. He wants to go back: "I go to monster trucks?" I am glad they had a fun time.

 

 

Moving and windows

A few things brought us to the idea of trying to sell our house. We put it on the market and within days we had multiple offers. We were excited, but didn't have any idea where we were going to live. We found a great house that we absolutely love! It is bigger and has a bigger yard and we are so happy with the decision to move. We only moved a few miles away. We love our neighborhood. Lucas is so excited with the big yard and demands that we go play outside. "Side" is what he says. We have these big front windows that he loves to watch for Daddy. He gets so excited when he sees Ryan pull up. He pounds on the windows and waves like crazy. The other day Ryan was mowing the lawn and Lucas got on his chair and kept pounding on the window trying to get Ryan's attention. Ryan didn't hear him, but it was pretty cute of Lucas to keep trying.

Yellowstone



For my family reunion we went to Yellowstone. Ryan, Lucas, and I drove there a day early so that we could enjoy more of it. We had such a great time in the park! We loved it. It was so beautiful and there was so much to see. Lucas had a good time and was a good sport of getting in and out of the car (for the most part). For the reunion we stayed in a big house outside of Yellowstone and had an awesome time playing. All 6 of my sisters were there with their families and so there was a total of 30 people in the house. It was a big house! Lucas loved playing with his cousins. I am going to post a lot of pictures. Enjoy! You will want to go to Yellowstone now too!

Lucas stood on this rock and waved at everyone that passed. There was a group of Chinese people that thought he was so cute and waved back. One of the women said, "You are the king of cuteness!"

My parents have 15 grandchildren--8 boys, 7 girls. They are about to leave on an 18 month mission for our church to Paris, France!

Fun things about Lucas

I wanted to post a few funny things that Lucas has been doing lately:

1) Even though Lucas is too big, he loves to sleep in the ends of his crib either curled up or in an L-shape.

2) He likes to pick up any phone and says "hello." It is really cute

3) The other day Ryan was taking a shower, Lucas opened the door, opened the cupboard and pulled out some of the stuff in it and then climbed in the cupboard and shut the door and peeked out when Ryan got out of the shower. He usually opens the cupboard and pulls out some of his bath toys and puts them in the shower so we can use them.

4) He loves playing with his cousins. He loves being at Grandma and Grandpa's house with all the cousins and going down the slide.

5) He has started doing a really weird dance that we are calling the broken chicken wing because he puts his ear to his shoulder and holds his arm up.

6) We went to a store and he immediately climbed in the wagon and wanted me to pull him around. When we got inside he climbed on this bike and I pushed him around in it. It was nice because then he didn't run away.

7) He still loves going to the library and knows immediately what he wants to do

8) He loves to boss us around and tell us to sit. He says sit really well, but a couple of weeks ago he started saying something like sit in the car. We aren't sure what he was wanting to say, but he added an "h" in the middle of sit, so it sounded like a swear word. He kept saying it over and over. We tried not to laugh because we didn't want him to keep saying it, but it was really funny. He hasn't said it lately, so that is good.

Just like Daddy

Ryan really likes my cooking to the point where he licks his plate after dinner. Lucas has watched his daddy do this and know thinks that he should do it too. It is pretty funny to watch him. He usually has a plastic plate, but the other day demanded my plate and licked it clean.

Lucas was going up stairs to meet Ryan and Ryan was going downstairs. Lucas made Ryan sit down with him so Lucas could eat the rest of his cookie.

Lucas loves to get Ryan's electric razor and pretend like he is shaving. He is such a smart little boy!

Lucas loves brushing his teeth. After he drinks his milk at night I tell him that it is time to brush his teeth, he jumps up and runs to the bathroom. He lets me brush them and then he likes to do it too. Lucas has recently learned how to fold his arms when we say prayers. When we wrap him in his blanket and bring him upstairs he starts to fold his arms because we always say prayers before he goes to sleep. It is really cute. He is growing up so much and is learning so much.

Lucas was loving Ryan's shoes the other day:
