Olympian Lucas

I am not sure what sport this can qualify as, but Lucas is pretty good at it! He only likes doing it on my feet, Ryan's feet must be too big.

He must have wanted to be like the fencers and put his bucket on his head
And here are some videos of Lucas doing some Olympic events as we watch the Olympics.

Fun things about Lucas

Our Olympic Flag is hanging up and this is our "Future Olympian"
I wanted to post a few funny things that Lucas has been doing lately:

1) Even though Lucas is too big, he loves to sleep in the ends of his crib either curled up or in an L-shape.

2) He likes to pick up any phone and says "hello." It is really cute

3) The other day Ryan was taking a shower, Lucas opened the door, opened the cupboard and pulled out some of the stuff in it and then climbed in the cupboard and shut the door and peeked out when Ryan got out of the shower. He usually opens the cupboard and pulls out some of his bath toys and puts them in the shower so we can use them.

4) He loves playing with his cousins. He loves being at Grandma and Grandpa's house with all the cousins and going down the slide.

5) He has started doing a really weird dance that we are calling the broken chicken wing because he puts his ear to his shoulder and holds his arm up.

6) We went to a store and he immediately climbed in the wagon and wanted me to pull him around. When we got inside he climbed on this bike and I pushed him around in it. It was nice because then he didn't run away.

7) He still loves going to the library and knows immediately what he wants to do

8) He loves to boss us around and tell us to sit. He says sit really well, but a couple of weeks ago he started saying something like sit in the car. We aren't sure what he was wanting to say, but he added an "h" in the middle of sit, so it sounded like a swear word. He kept saying it over and over. We tried not to laugh because we didn't want him to keep saying it, but it was really funny. He hasn't said it lately, so that is good.

Swim Lessons

Lucas and I were in a toddler/parent swim class for the last 2 weeks. We had a fun time. Last week was really hot and so we went swimming in the afternoon at Ryan's uncle's pool and then would go to swim lessons in the early evening. He really likes being in the water. He started to get really good at kicking his legs and trying to swim. Lucas loved jumping off the side and was able to hold himself on the edge. He never really wanted to blow bubbles, but he started doing it when he is in the bathtub. He jumped off the diving board to his teacher a few times. He is a water baby, and we will be swimming a lot more this summer.

21 months!

21 months and such a happy little boy! He is really turning into a big boy/toddler.

Here are some new things that he is saying now:
"Did it!" when he takes off his shoes, closes the garage door, buckles himself, blows bubbles in the tub, etc.
"Hot" for everything above freezing
"Dad!" when Ryan comes home from work he will run and give him a big hug
"Yes" "No" combined with nodding and shaking his head
"Dog" whenever he sees a dog on tv or in real life
"Me" all day long!
"Sit" He is pretty bossy in telling us where to go and where to sit
"Nose" "Eyes"
"Side" when he wants to go outside
"Church"
"Truck"
"Out" "Down" when he wants to get down from his high chair or carseat
I am sure that there are more things, I just can't think of them all right now. He is learning new things everyday.

He recently learned how to do "knuckles." He likes giving people high fives and now he really likes knuckles. We went into a store the other day and there was a man giving stickers to kids. He was really excited about the sticker and the man asked if he could get a high five. Lucas did it and then I told Lucas to give him knuckes. He was really happy to do it and gave the man knucklles and a big smile. On the way out we saw the man again and Lucas wanted to give him knuckes again. He did and then he kept his "knuckles" up and tried to find anyone else to give knuckles to. He saw an old lady and tried to reach out to her, but she didn't see him. It was really funny.

Lucas is a good helper. He tries to help when I do laundry. And he also will pick up his toys and put them in his baskets. I hope he stays that way! He loves to hold our hands or tug on our clothes to bring us to where he wants to go. He is a bossy little boy! He loves seeing dogs, cats, birds, and other animals. He loves pointing up to airplanes or helicopters when he hears them.

He is a happy, fun loving little boy. He brings so much joy to our family!

Independence Day!

Sparklers!

Neighborhood parade

We bought this splash table for Lucas, but his cousins were playing with it and Lucas stood in the background just watching.
My sister bought him these adorable overalls! And he is wearing his Twins hat!

We love the 4th!
