Hoping to adopt again!

Adopting Lucas was one of the greatest blessings in our lives. We are so grateful that he is a part of our family. We have always wanted multiple children in our family and we have made the decision to get approved for adoption again. We filled out all the necessary paperwork. We did all of the background checks and fingerprinting. We met with our caseworker and had interviews and he came to our house for a home visit. We are now happily approved and searching for our next child. Lucas is a miracle. We want him to be an older brother.

We are so happy and excited about the future. It will be amazing. Lucas came into our family because of my aunt spreading the word that we were trying to adopt. You can help us by spreading the word too. Thank you.

Fun times

We like to walk outside and get the mail when Ryan is about to come home and then Lucas gets to help Ryan pull the truck into the driveway. Lucas is so happy to help.

This is another of his career aspirations: anything with hangers. He goes crazy in our closet and his closet. We were at a store and this was his favorite spot to be.

I took a picture of him on my phone on Easter at church. He was playing with a broken cell phone but just looked like a little man. I love how the family next to us was just watching and laughing at him.

Park day

This park that we were at had a big sand volleyball court. He loved playing in the sand.

He is looking like such a big boy!

Phones

Lucas got some phones from his birth grandma for Easter and boy, does he love them. He has fun walking around talking on them and playing with them. The "smart phone" has lots of buttons that he loves to push and they make lots of noise.

18 months old!

This was after his shot, I usually take it before, but the doctor was too quick today
Weight: 22.4 lbs..........9%
Height: 33 inches.........72%
Head Circ: 18 inches....6%

This little guy is 18 months old. He is getting so big. We went to the doctor today and he really does not like the nurse. I guess he knows that she is mean and gives him shots. He likes the doctor though. He is healthy and doing really well. He had to get one shot today and was really sad about it. But there are no more shots for him for quite awhile so that is good.

He is not talking yet. The other day the pantry was open and he was pointing at it. I was trying to figure out what he wanted and he was saying something. When I finally picked up the juice I realized that is what he said. The next day Ryan was trying to get him to say it and he said it. So I guess that juice is his first word. He will shake his head for no and lately has been nodding his head and saying "SSSS" for yes(ssss). It is pretty good. For not being able to talk he does communicate pretty well with us. He points to some of his body parts like head, hair, nose, toes, tummy, eyes when we say those things. He is climbing all over. He can know get onto our tall chairs and the coffee table and can almost get onto the couch. He has started loving to watch Sesame street. He likes Elmo. He has recently gone to one nap a day. I was kind of not wanting that, but it has turned out to be pretty good because he sleeps in later now and most days sleeps longer in the afternoon. Lucas has 16 teeth now and loves getting his teeth brushed. After he drinks his milk at night I say to him "Time to brush your teeth" and he runs to the bathroom and makes faces in the mirror as I give him his fluoride and brush his teeth.

Lucas is a very happy boy. Now that it is spring (finally!) we go on walks and go to the park and he loves being outside. He gets so sad when we have to go inside. He loves looking at birds and dogs. He thinks dogs are the best thing ever. And he likes to chase after the birds.

Little chick

Lucas was a duck for Halloween, but my sister has a little chicken costume and since he didn't wear it for Halloween, I thought he could wear it for some Easter pictures:

Easter

We had a great Easter. We went to church and Lucas was dressed in a little suit and tie and look like a little man. It was so cute. He was playing with a play cell phone in the aisle and looked like a business man making his calls. We went to Ryan's parent's house for dinner, but before dinner was the big Easter Egg Hunt. Lucas couldn't care less about the Easter eggs and just wanted to be outside and play on the airplane. I even tried to show him that there was candy in the eggs, but he didn't care. He didn't pick up one egg. Oh well.
